Stiff & painful Neck
Poor posture, especially if you sit at the desk a lot or you drive a lot, can lead to an imbalance in muscle tension, neck movements and can cause a block a facet joint. This in turn causes muscle spasms and the neck muscles to tighten up causing pain and reduced movement.
Nowadays younger and younger people are complaining of neck problems, caused by the excessive use you mobile phone and hand hold devices .This is then called Text Neck
The physiotherapist tests the different tissue of the spine, eases the tension of the muscle with massage and maybe electrotherapy and brings back mobility with manual treatment and stretching. Understanding the connection between posture and overload of the neck and back structures as well as a strengthening program for the postural muscles are a very important part of the therapy program.
