Whether you are taking a summer holiday or jetting off for a Winter break the discomfort we sometimes feel in our ears especially during take-off and landing is not the best start to your journey.
Are you one of those people who experience pain in your ears when there is a change in air pressure due to flying?
This happens because the altitude at which you are travelling changes quickly and when there is a change in altitude there is also a change in air pressure and therefore the air pressure in your ears has to adjust. To do this, the air trapped in your inner ear escapes through a narrow tube that links the ear to the back of the nose and throat, this is when you feel your ears “pop”.
Most people feel their ears pop during take-off and landing but some will experience discomfort during the entire flight, especially if you are already suffering from sinus problems, cold or hay fever. Due to the congestion your ears they cannot equalise the pressure, making your ears feel blocked and painful.
Hopi Ear Candling can help to balance the fluids in the ear and relive congestion, this in turn can then help relieve the pressure and reduce the pain experienced in the ear when flying.
If you are due to fly, especially if you are also suffering from congestion due to hay fever, cold, sinus problem or just know that you suffer with ear pain during the flight, a treatment of Hopi Ear Candling can help. Ideally, a treatment 24 – 48 hours prior to your journey would be beneficial as this will cleanse the ears, balance the fluids and release any congestion.
Hopi ear candling is non-invasive and works by creating a vacuum like effect within the ear, which warms the outer ear canal and draws out any excess wax, followed by a pressure point massage to the face which assists in releasing tension and congestion in the sinuses.
